Read more...Today Steve and I joined Anne, Roger, Jo, Paul, John, Liz and Barrie (fellow members of the Online Fellwalking Club) and accompanied Ed and Sue on his ascent of Mellbreak.  This was Ed's final Wainwright.

Today's walk was taken at a gentle pace and included time for a good lunch break and some sight seeing at Scales Force.  It took 6 hours 10 minutes.

Read more...With the rare chance of a long weekend break, I decided to take advantage of the good  weather and headed north.  A short detour from the M6 brought me to Leighton Moss, where I had a delightful stroll around the Lancashire village of Silverdale.

The time taken was approx 5 hours, but as usual this allowed plenty of time for taking photos and of course time for a leisurely caffettiere of coffee and a slice of cake.

Read more...Thanks to Dave for organising today's glorious walk through the stunning limestone scenery where we visited the Norber erratics and limestone pavement to Long Scar.  We returned to Austwick via Crummack Dale and Austwick Beck Head.

The walk took us a very leisurely 7 hours.

Read more...With the promise of reasonable weather Steve and I set out to walk the old moorland paths between Littondale and Langstrothdale.  Wonderful views, interesting clouds, varied walking conditions and assorted military aircraft flying overhead made this a rewarding walk.

The time taken was 7 hours but this included plenty of time for exploring and taking photos.

Read more...With a dry Sunday morning I set off to extend a favourite local walk.  I started at the usual car park just below the White House and walked to Balckstone Edge.  I then extended the walk and followed the drains around the moor on the northern side of the A58.

The walk took just over 5 hours.
